LBC (South) is part of the LBC group, (London Building Control Ltd being the Approved Inspector, certified to carry out the building control function of a ‘Building Control Body’).

We were formed to provide a service for our South Coast clients that they can access more locally, as a quick point of contact for advice, whilst working in conjunction with LBC surveyors, plan checkers and consultants.

LBC South have an office in Chichester which is shared with LBC. We have administrative staff and site surveyors located there. This means we can respond quickly to clients and arrange site visits and meetings.

Our MD is Chris Wigley, FCABE, MRICS, MIFE.
He has been MD of LBC South since 2011 and has many years of experience in all kinds of building work.

Business Support is provided by Steve and Ryan from our Chichester office. They will ensure applications are processed quickly and surveyors notified to attend site as required. They can answer questions that arise both before and during the course of works and refer any technical items to the relevant site surveyor or managers. Having local admin staff means that Notices and certificates can be produced there without undue delay.

Our building control surveyors are also based locally right across the South, from Bournemouth to Dover and up to the M4 and London, with another LBC SW office in Exeter, covering Cornwall and Devon. That means we are able to attend sites promptly, in a reasonable timeframe – of benefit to our clients.
